Cordless is the real feature. A mains zapper has to hang where a socket is. A battery unit can sit on a camping table, in a tent porch, on a patio or in a garage with no power, and can be moved to wherever the insects actually are. For camping and for a patio away from the house, that is a genuine advantage over a plug in model.

Coverage claims for light based traps depend entirely on ambient light, competing attractants and wind, and a half acre claim for a battery lantern should be treated as optimistic.
Most importantly, mosquitoes are not primarily light driven.
